is that from The Last Starfighter? god, i must have watched that movie 36 times as a kid. it may still contain the only use of “what the shit!?” by a 10-year old ever.

listen fellas, I love that movie as much as anyone (I had the novelization!!) but I’m pretty sure this is Admiral “It’s a Trap!” Ackbar, non?

The Grangers are sticking together on this one–it’s totally Admiral Ackbar. Not only did we have the Star Wars action figure growing up, but I don’t think I’ve even seen the Last Starfighter in it’s entirety. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

It is admiral akbar, which i knew right off, but wanted to play along with jamie’s nostalgia since i don’t remember the admiral having a catchphrase.

for a while there I was hoping for a Paquettes vs Grangers face off! And truly there would be no nobler cause to battle over than Admiral Ackbar vs Last Starfighter-guy.

Also, are you kidding me about the Admiral having no catchphrase? I direct you immediately to:

I stand corrected and a tinier bit more educated. i had no idea he was famous for such a seemingly unremarkable line. it’s been a while since i’ve seen the film so maybe in context it’s amazing but i fail to see the appeal. it’s a bit worthless too seeing as james caan and the rest still met their untimely ends.
