Yeah so today we were going over to smith st. to pick up some shoes
Maxine was having fixed at a shoe repair place. On the way over we had
to get creative with the driving because there were a ton of fire
engines and ambulances blocking a big part of smith st. We duck and
dodge and manage to get in close to the cobbler’s, park, and put some
money in the meter. We head over there and something major is going on
— tons of cop cars, people walking around, chaos.

as we get closer, Maxine makes the joke "I bet it’s the shoe place
that burned down or something."

and it was.

sure max had to say goodbye to 3 pairs of shoes, but the owner (who we
talked to as we were leaving) had to say goodbye to his whole world…

he said, "it was everything"…

this has been floating around the net a lot, but I would be remiss if I didn’t clue you in to this elequent essay by the one and only Carl Sagan about the positive effects that smoking pot has had on his life…
